The Times of London reports allegations that two Nyingmapa monks were killed by Chinese paramilitary police at their monastery in western Sichuan province last weekend. According to Tibetan sources, the monks were celebrating the birthday of Nyingmapa's founder, Padmasambhava, which for some reason the Chinese had prohibited.
