Monks Stay Calm During Quake
The epicenter of yesterday's 5.4 earthquake in southern California was directly under Wat Buddhi Buddhist Temple of Chino Hills. Thawatchai Imprapra, a monk from Thailand, told reporters the monks were just finishing lunch when they felt the quake. The monks remained calm, he said, noting that earthquakes accompanied the birth, enlightenment and first sermon of the Buddha. The temple was undamaged.
