Explosion in Yangon
Today an explosion that may have been a bomb rocked Yangon, Burma (Myanmar), between Sule Pagoda and Yangon City Hall. Four people were injured, according to a shopkeeper.
Many assume a connection between the explosion and today's date. One year ago today, the Saffron Revolution reached its peak. Thousands of monks and their supporters filled Yangon's streets to protest government policies causing terrible deprivation. On September 26, the military junta that rules Burma began a brutal crackdown that ended the pro-democracy demonstrations.
