That's Entertainment
Cambodia's first rock opera has been forced off the air by the monastic establishment. Agence France-Presse (AFP) reports, "Cambodian monks have persuaded authorities to ban the country's first rock opera, which features actors dressed as clergy who break into song and dance, saying it insults Buddhism."
The rock opera, "Where Elephants Weep," tells the story a Cambodian-American man who returns to Cambodia in the 1980s and for a time becomes a monk. The main character not only sings and dances, but he has a love affair with a pop singer. The rock opera was shown on Cambodian television last week, and the monastic council complained to the government. It will be shown on Cambodian television no more.
The opera has been performed in the United States and elsewhere in Europe.

That’s just silly. These guys would stand to be better Buddhists if they let go of some of their ego. I would expect much better from monks. Shame on them.
Hullo!
Would you please do a favor and tell me about special dance of the buddhists?
In fact im working on a drama and I need to be aware of their special dance.
If its possible please send me an e.mail.
Thanks.
Maral: I don’t know any special Buddhist dances. The Tibetans might, though. Check with them.
