Kagyu Monlam

Wednesday January 7, 2009

The annual Kagyu Monlam Chenmo is underway in Bodhgaya, India, where the Buddha attained enlightenment. The Monlam Chenmo is an annual eight-day prayer festival of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, presides.

It's fun to cruise about on the Monlam Chenmo website. For example, here's a video on the Monlam Chenmo in English. Here's a report, with photos (scroll down) on a teaching on Milarepa by the Karmapa. There's also a lovely Mahamudra booklet in four languages (including English) in PDF format for downloading. Enjoy.
