A new film called "Chandni Chowk to China" was about to open in Kathmandu when enraged youths demonstrated in front of the theater and tore promotion posters off the wall. Authorities have stepped in to stop the film from being screened.
Why? because a character in the film said that the historical Buddha was born in India. However, according to early texts he was born in Lumbini, which is in southern Nepal.
"Chandni Chowk to China" is a Hindi romantic comedy co-produced by Warner Brothers. Nepal's censor board had previewed the film and had asked that the offending scene be removed before it could be shown in Nepal. Nevertheless, word got out, and a boycott of the film is in the works.
One suspects the World Honored-One would think it unskillful to get so worked up over a musical comedy.

I have watched this movie & have not seen any particular scene disregarding Nepal , if birth of Buddha is linked with India then it should be deal with the directors of the film concerned rather creating hangama
it’s not about the scene. it is about a dialouge which sayds that Buddha was born in India.
Just an example of the Indian people displaying their well known contemptous nature… dont trust indians.. never..ever..
never think that nepal is a weak country….nepalese surely hate such offense…
