Ven. Thich Nhat Hanh Hospitalized

By August 26, 2009

Follow me on:

Ven. Thich Nhat HanhLate last week the Most Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with a lung infection, pseudomonas aeruginosa, for which he is receiving antibiotics.  He probably will remain hospitalized until early next week. Do send healing energy to Thây ("teacher") and the Plum Village sangha.

Because of his illness, the venerable teacher missed a scheduled retreat in Colorado, which I understand continued without him. However, he still expects to lead a retreat at the end of August at Deer Park Monastery in California, and from there to continue his U.S. tour.

At Ox Herding you can download a letter to the sangha from Thây,  and you can read the most recent letters and news from Thây at the Plum Village website.
