My absence this week is the result of a move to a new residence. My new apartment currently is a labyrinth of moving boxes. I'm making little islands of functionality; such as a place to sleep and a place to make coffee. I'm now sitting on a corner of the sofa using an end table for a desk. Tomorrow I may clear a path to the kitchen table.
There's a lesson here somewhere about the fetter of possessions. I will reflect on that after I've found the toaster.

LOL – good to put first things first
all best wishes to you, Barbara, as you settle into your new home ….
Barbara, are you still in NYC? I love NYC…
They say that clutter makes meditation difficult and even impossible. I wonder if its ever possible to strike a balance between detaching from possessions and having enough possessions for accessibility reasons? I keep reflecting on that, but I never come up with answers.
It is not in how many or what sort of possession it is. The difficulty only arises with attachment, needing to have, being fearful of not having or loosing what you have. The only good that comes from attachment is ones ability to see it for what it is, when truly ‘seen’ detachment happens. This is the root of true freedom.
