Buddhist Meditation

There are several forms of Buddhist meditation, although all forms are forms of bhavana. Bhavana subdivides into samatha or shamatha (tranquility) and vipassana or vipashyana (insight). Beyond this, the several schools of Buddhism have developed diverse approaches to bhavana.
